Frank the Framer at Framed LA

Meet Your Framer

Frank Moldovan, Owner & Framer

In 1988, Frank Moldovan was in search of a business that would meld his lifelong passions of woodworking and design. A mentor of his suggested that custom picture framing might be the perfect fit. What that mentor didn’t know is that Frank had worked for a custom picture framer as a summer job during high school. It was meant to be. Frank is now a member of the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA). Over the years his business grew and one shop turned into three shops. While he was happy about his success, something had left his grasp. He sacrificed the joy of designing and building beautiful frames for the job of managing a growing business. He didn’t sign up for a management job, so he decided to return to the “one shop” model.

In 2017, Framed LA was born out of Frank’s years of experience and love of custom framing. He is back on happy ground now that he’s offering his unique style & framing skills in his own way. Frank is always on the hunt for new and interesting framing and design techniques and styles, and he loves figuring out ways to use framing to tell your personal story. What makes you tick? What images do you love? Your walls should tell your story, and Frank wants to help you LOVE what’s on your walls.

Frank cares deeply about his community and is involved in the Los Angeles Conservancy, an organization that saves historic buildings in Los Angeles from being torn down. Stop by Framed LA for a quick chat about life, family, mid-century modern design, Art Deco architecture, Los Angeles insider attractions, you name it – Frank’s your guy!

“Bring me your family stuff, past and present, your vacations, your special moments, and challenge me while I promise to challenge you so that together we can create something new and beautiful for your home.”
